Summer Rain (haiku)

the earth counts blessings
drop by precious drop as the
sky opens its heart

  1. Good job! Are you cropping your macro shots? That's how I get some of my extreme close-ups. Shooting macro at 12megapixels... crop it down even further to make it even closer. You don't need many pixels to post on the web!

  2. Thanks Rick and Jeremy. Although most of the pics on this blog have been taken with a variety of small pocket digi-cams, these Summer Rain ones in this post were shot using my Olympus E510 DSLR with a 50mm f2.8 dedicated macro lens - I was experimenting with it the day I bought it, to see how well it would do with close-ups. I love the Bokeh! (aesthetic blurring of the background) that the f2.8 gives. I didn't crop these ones - but I do like playing around with cropping as it can produce some really interesting compositional effects.

I love your compositions, Rick! Go look, people: http://rickleephoto.blogspot.com - Rick's Produce photos from his weekly grocery shop will make you swoon.
